A raindrop frozen two feet above ground

Eyes – pebbles after sunset in November

Your turning to leave – just a polaroid

It will fade and redden in time

But no, not today – today is forever

The motion of this moment – broken

This moment – singeing ends, frozen centre

  1. Beautiful and so evocative. The sad but real recognition of time passing and leaving us all bereft. A beautiful, delicate spring flower with the perfect amount of light and shadow cast upon it – gone in a moment. Things never actually leave us, only our frontal lobe recognition, it is always stored and it’s nourishment makes us what we are.
Thanks for this poem Linda Catherine, it was wonderful.B
