Let’s Call it a Day

Swinging across the stream on a vine

The stampede’s screams in thunder

Two legged beasts they trample on

Hyenas laugh in the evening light

To the place i might call mine

I rush in desperate hunger

For rest and peace ’till th’next morn

Brings back the concrete’s frightful sight.

  1. I can imagine an encroaching civilisation into the natural world of the baboons in Africa, where the said baboons have compromised themselves by their acceptance of the easy meal left as scraps.
This has parallels with the commissioned artist knowing that money is the only way more creative purity can be achieved.
Linda Catherine, writing these poems at such a clip must be enlightening of yourself.B
